Forged fire poker and shovel

These are hand hammered and forged fire pokers I made. They're 28" long. Made of 1/2" square stock. Shovel is made of sheet metal.

Forged tool steel knife

This is a forged steel knife. It's approximately 8 inches long. It's made all of one piece of tool steel. I then normalized and hardened the blade in oil and then tempered it in the oven. The blade has been sharpened by hand on a series of stones and diamonds and hand polished.

Hand forged sculptural iron end table

I had some extra material lying around and decided to make this end table. It's a little more artistic than what I usually do but I still ended up liking it.

Hand forged fire pokers

I made these recently for a guy who wanted to give a fire poker to his sons. He had found a hand forged fire poker years ago his sons envied so he decided it would make a good Christmas gift. There are made of 1/2" solid square bar stock and 1/4" round bar stock for the lashing of the hook. The handle is kind of a modern scribe and the whole stock is hand hammered for that rustic look.

Hand forged iron table with glass top

This is an iron coffee table with glass top. The table is hand forged in a coal forge I built. The material is 1" flat bar. The leg assemblies are hot riveted with solid steel rivets. It comes fitted with a custom cut piece of polished glass.  The finish on this table is a black/blue with slight yellow patina and the patina is covered by many coats of clear for long lasting durability. This table is ideal indoors or on a covered patio or gazebo area.

Firewood cart/Utility cart

This is a custom built firewood cart. The frame is Constructed with 11/2" square tube steel. The deck of the cart is 16 gauge cold rolled sheet metal with aluminum rivets. The cart also has two hand forged branches on either end of it. Each branch is meticulously hammered and forged using traditional blacksmithing methods. All forging is done on a coal forge I built that is powered the old fashioned way with a hand crank rotary Buffalo Forge blower constructed in the late 1800's.  The cart is then primed and painted with high quality primer and metal flake paint followed up by several thick coats of clear for durability and shine.

Custom steel table with plywood top

Custom built steel table on casters with (current) plywood top. Legs are made of 4"x1/4" flat bar with 2"x1/4" cross gussets.  The plywood top frame is angle iron with hand bent braces and rivets attatching the top to the legs.  Very lightweight table for being steel yet still very rigid and durable. Clear coat exposed steel finish.
